I took the TSHOOT yesterday and failed. I know the technologies and felt very confident while taking the test, I honestly thought I had passed until I hit the last button to end the exam and saw that I failed. Be warned the passing score on the test is high and the question count is low. Every question you miss will hurt you dearly. I used the Prepaway premium exam and there were few questions on the exam that was not on the premium test, nor on any of the free exams you can download here. You need to use as many sources as possible to pass this exam. Prepaway will help, but you NEED TO KNOW THE TECHNOLOGIES. You need to be familiar with troubleshooting what the BEST way to solve the problem. many of these questions had multiple answers where two answers were correct. You need to choose the BEST ANSWER. I you are finding that you are failing any of the CCNP tests, this is my advice.

The tests are designed to gauge your level of understanding of the technologies. If you know the technologies you will pass. The Prepaway tests will only help you to understand the types of questions you might expect to see on the tests. You may find some of the questions are on the test word for word. You might also find questions you've never seen. Don't get shaken by this. Prepaway is not here to just give you the answers. You must know the technology. This is what Cisco wants. Just think about what the question is asking, what the technology is that you are expected to understand.

If when you are studying for the test, you find questions that you get wrong or don't know the answer to... For example - Private VLANs. Research this topic, get to know it and understand it. This way, no matter what you are asked you will be able to answer the question correctly. Google and Cisco's website are your friends.

For labs and sims - I highly recommend using GNS3, getting VIRL, purchasing a switch and/or a router on ebay, or using some lab equipment at work. Mock up the different technologies. Practice configuring AAA. Practice configuring etherchannels. Practice configuring these scenarios at home when you don't have the stress of the exam. Having hands on experience is vital to achieving the CCNP.
