    Automation follows instructions and conditional logic; statistical and machine-learning systems also infer patterns from examples.     A useful learner can explain the goal, compare alternatives, test a claim, document uncertainty and change course when evidence improves. Schools and workplaces can support this with realistic exercises rather than only software demonstrations. For example, have a team evaluate a new collaboration platform for security, accessibility, integration, cost and records retention, then justify a bounded pilot instead of declaring a winner from its feature count.<\/p>\n

    Technology literacy should lead to greater agency.
